It is with profound sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Mark Paul Cornelius DeWetering, age 25, of Kinkora on Monday, November 25, 2013.
Mark was born in Stratford on October 9, 1988, and went to school at St. Patrick’s, Kinkora and St Michael’s in Stratford. Our redneck loved his Dodge truck, country music, hunting, living in “the Village” and Tug-O-War. Mark and his cousin Dennis DeWetering were instrumental in resurrecting the Ellice Tug-O-War team, who were Ontario Champions for 2013. Mark was a fierce protector of his family and a loyal friend to many. Mark was a very talented brick layer and was proud of his business DeWetering Fine Masonry. Our big strong boy got his start during his co-op placement with Colin Wood of C.R. Masonry. Colin taught Mark well and made him the awesome brick layer that he was. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Kinkora and the Knights of Columbus. Beloved first son of Paul and Tami (McLean) DeWetering. Loving big brother and mentor to Paula, Aaron and Miranda. Dear nephew of Frank DeWetering and Karen (Godparents), Tony DeWetering and Grace, Ed DeWetering and Julie, Mike DeWetering and Cynthia, Richard and Terri-Ann DeWetering, Pauline and Bill Crawford, Liz and Tom McLaughlin, Jackie and Don Boyd, Kathy DeWetering and Joe and Jo-Anne DeWetering and Terry. Also survived by Great Aunt and Uncle Jack and Juanita Player and their families. Mark will be dearly missed by many cousins and friends. Predeceased by Grandparents Harry (1999) and Christina (Gansevles) (2004) DeWetering, Nana Pauline McLean (2009), and Uncle Ben DeWetering (2008). In honour of Mark, please wear jeans, cowboy boots and hats to the visitation and Funeral Mass. Friends and relatives may call at the W.G.
