It is with great sorrow the family of Paul Edward Boshart, age 76, of Stratford announces that he passed away at the Stratford General Hospital on Sunday, November 17, 2013. Born in Milverton, he was the son of the late Samuel Boshart (1964) and the former Florence Kipfer (2004). Beloved husband of Joan (Down) whom he married on December 30, 1959. Loving father of Susan Wemp (Jeffrey), Kitchener; Jennifer Boshart, Stratford and Peter Boshart (Jen Lam), Fergus.
Cherished Poppa of David and Meredith Wemp, Nicholas and Arron Boshart. Dear brother of Lois Leis (Mervin), Wellesley and Laurene Boshart, Milverton. Also survived by mother-in-law Norma Down, Stratford; sisters-in-law Marjorie Mahon (Jack), North Hollywood, CA, and Lynda Schneider (Raymund), Stratford, and many nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by son Paul Samuel (Peter’s twin 1965) and father-in-law John Down (1987). Paul was an avid golfer and a longtime member at the “Muni”, having served on the Board of Directors and the executive of the Men’s League for many years. He also belonged to the Lakeside Seniors (now SLAAA), where he volunteered as President of Winter Golf, and the President and Treasurer of the Wood Shop for a number of years. A faithful member at St. John’s United Church, where he served as an usher for several terms. Paul worked for 32 years at Samsonite, 2 years at Crane and 9 years driving school bus for Laidlaw.
Friends and relatives may call at the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron St., Stratford on Thursday November 21st from 7-9 p.m. and on Friday November 22nd from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at 2 p.m. Rev. Michelle Down will officiate. Due to severe family allergies we respectfully request no flowers, and as expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation, St. John’s United Church or the charity of choice through the funeral home. 519-271-7411.
