Frances Muriel Grace Roe, age 96, of Stratford passed away peacefully at Cedarcroft Place, Stratford on February 12, 2014. She was born in Loverna, Saskatchewan, daughter of the late George and Sarah (Salmon) Harley. On September 1, 1948 she married William Edgerton Roe at St. James Anglican Church in Stratford. The couple farmed near Walton in McKillop Township before retiring to Mornington Street in Stratford. William predeceased Grace in January of 1996. Grace was a member of St. John’s United Church, Stratford, the UCW and fellowship group. She was also a member of the Ruth Rebekah Lodge #2. Grace is survived by her daughter Betty Eloise Roe and her husband Gary Robert Swernik of Los Angeles, California, a son-in-law Allan Bruce Racho of Parry Sound. Grandchildren Susan Lynn Peck and her husband Wayne James Peck of Mitchell, Jennifer Jeanette Racho and her partner Darren Joseph O’Halloran of Barrie; one great grandson Alexander Jaxon Harrison O’Halloran, two sisters Marjorie Griggs and Myrel Boisvert as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband she was predeceased by her oldest daughter Gloria Jean Racho, sisters Verna and husband Francis Storey, Gladys and husband Melvin Searl, Dorothy and husband William Dalton, Connie and husband Mervin Ellis. Friends and relatives may call at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Saturday, February 15th, from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:30 a.m. Rev. Michelle Down will officiate. Interment will follow in Avondale Cemetery.
