With profound sorrow, the Mulligan and Armes families announce the passing of Janice Armes. Cherished wife of Jim, for 36 years, mother to Ian and Leah Armes, Grandma to James. Beloved daughter of Dolores “Dee” Mulligan and the late Ronald Mulligan. Dear daughter-in-law of Pat and Walter Armes, Egmondville, Ont and sister-in-law of Diane Armes-Redrupp and her husband Will, Toronto, Auntie to their son, Ben. Janice is mourned by her siblings Cindy McCauley, Todd and Bonnie Mulligan, Leah and Brian Morrison and Ross Mulligan (Tracey). She was Auntie to Aislinn McCauley and her children Azalea and Ivy, Merdith McCauley (Ryan), Amelia McCauley (Theron) and their children Emma and Allyson, Glynis McCauley (Ian), Melinda Mulligan, Neil Mulligan, Matthew and Stephanie Morrison and their children Lucas and Evelyn and Elana Morrison (Curtis). Aunts and Uncles in California, Michigan and Toronto also grieve her passing, as does Louise Cooper Godwin (family friend). Janice and Jim have been partners in operating Progressive Wood Products/Software in Stratford for many years, until recently, she was an active member of Compound 25, an investment club for women. Together, they enjoy spending time at their cottage on Miller Lake and especially hosting “Family Weekends” for all. Although she was an astute business woman, Janice retained a child’s wonderment of the world. Toys and dolls brought her joy which she happily shared with her grandson James and her nieces and nephews. She remembered how to play and children adored her. Her sweetness and generosity will be deeply missed.
A Celebration of Janice’s Life will be announced at a later date by the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron St., Stratford. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Children’s Wish Foundation or the Humane Society would be appreciated by her family and may be made through the funeral home. 519-271-7411. www.wgyoungfuneralhome.com
