Carl Frederick Pauli, age 91, passed away peacefully at the Stratford General Hospital on Wednesday, April 30, 2014. Born in Stratford, Ontario, son of the late Frederick Pauli and the former Emma Drenkow. During the Second World War, Carl was in the Navy, then after the war he moved to London where he was a machinist at General Motors until his retirement. Upon retirement Carl returned to Stratford where he resided until 2007 when he moved to Country Meadows, Brunner, then to Knollcrest Lodge Milverton. Carl was predeceased by his sister Wilhelmine U. Pauli in 2006. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. Carl was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Stratford for most of his life, except when he lived in London. A service of celebration of Carl’s life will be held at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church Gastmeier Chapel, 202 Erie Street, Stratford on Wednesday, May 7th at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Jeff Laustsen will officiate. Carl has been cremated and interment will be in Avondale Cemetery, Stratford. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church Building Fund or the charity of one’s choice through the W.G.
