Robert “Peanut Bob” Arthur McLaren. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Bob. Bob was born in Renfrew. Ontario August 18,1924 and was called to heaven July 1,2014 from Mitchell, Ontario. Bob was a much loved father to Lynda Ruth McLaren, grandfather to Hilary Jeanne Mills (Ken Gallant) and great grandfather “Big Bob” to Wyatt and Eden Mills. Bob will also be missed by nieces and nephews in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario. Bob was predeceased by his wife Mary in 2004, also his three siblings, Royle, Lyn, and Elizabeth. After serving as an air force pilot in World War II, Bob attended University of Manitoba in Winnipeg where he received his Bachelor of Commerce degree. He then began his career in the Financial Branch of General Motors. He retired as a Branch Manager after 30 years of loyal service. Bob was not ready to retire yet and he continued to work another 20 years for Paul Sadlon as his property manager. Bob had many interests which included curling, golfing, fishing, cross country and downhill skiing, and enjoying the family cottage in Parry Sound. He was a Rotarian and a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Bob also leaves behind many friends whose lives have been touched by his kindness, generosity and philanthropy over the years. The family will mark this solemn passing with a small and private ceremony at the family plot in Dalston, Ontario. Bob, we will all miss your twinkling eyes, radiant smiley and those one-of-a kind eyebrows….
