Ronald Fredrick Boyce, age 84, passed away peacefully at Kingsway Lodge, St. Marys on Thursday, January 8, 2015. He was born in Hamilton, son of the late Bert and Edna Boyce. Beloved husband of the late Betty Jean (Sarll) who predeceased him in 2006. Ron and Betty were married in Stratford on November 5, 1949. They owned and operated Downieview Farms for many years until their retirement. He was a faithful member of Memorial Baptist Church and served on many boards and committees with passion over his life. Loving father of David (Karen), Marilyn Jeffrey (Bill), Carolyn Kirkpatrick (Adam), Lynda Wallace, Kathleen Boyce (Paul Jackson), Doug (Brenda). Grandfather of Rosemary MacFarlane (Neil), Kimberly Boyce (Ryan Sage), Patricia Gilchrist, Bill Jeffrey (Melanie), Jeremy Jeffrey (Jackie), Dan Jeffrey (Sarah), Benjamin Jeffrey (Jolene), Christina Steele (David), Kevin Kirkpatrick, Jennifer McNaughton, Gregory Wallace (Kaytlynn), Christopher Villeneuve (Alicja) and great grandfather of 19 great grandchildren. Dear brother of Gladys Boyce. Also survived by a sister-in-law Barb Sarll, a brother-in-law Ron Lantz and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife, he was predeceased by a granddaughter Yvonne Jeffrey, a grandson Christopher Wallace, a sister Dora Boyce, a brother Lorne Boyce and Betty’s parents Jerry and Viola Sarll. Friends and relatives may call at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Monday, January 12, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Memorial Baptist Church, 113 Bruce Street, Stratford on Tuesday, January 13 at 11 a.m. Pastor David Elliott will officiate. Interment in Avondale Cemetery.
