Ghulam Janat, passed away at age 86 on Sunday April 12, 2015 surrounded by all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren in the comfort of her own home. She was born in Jallandher, India and grew up in Lahore Pakistan. She migrated to Canada in 1991. She was a very independent and courageous woman and faced the challenges of life with positive attitude. She brought up five children on her own, looked after brothers and sisters and was respected as “Wise Elder” in her community. Survived by two sisters Irshad (M.Iqbal), Shamim ( M.Raoof ), one sister-in-law Mussarat (M.Bashir), 14 nieces and nephews; three sons Zubair Ahmed (Ruby), Humair Ahmed (Naila ) and Umair Ahemd ( Saleha ); two daughters Rashda Rana ( M.Ayub), Nabiha Sharif; 10 grandchildren Ayesha ( Khuram ) Fatima, Mohammed ( Sahar ), Salman ( Sarah ) Sultan ( Allia ), Lujain ( Vince ), Jumana, Moaze, Ziyad and Arham; 2 great grandchildren Jibril and Maarya. Sincere thanks and gratitude to all care providers who were directly or indirectly involved in our mother’s care ( CCAC, One Care, SGH Emergency Staff, in home care givers and Ontario Home Health ), Thanks to Dr. Mandir Jog for providing professional care and support to her for almost 14 years. Thanks to Dr. Leaney for looking after mom for years and very special thanks to Dr. Brooks and his staff for providing excellent care and support until the end of her life journey. She was able to live these 14 years with dignity, respect and comfort because of all of you!
A private funeral service took place at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, Stratford on April 12, 2015. Mom was buried in the presence of all loved ones on Monday, April 13, 2015 in Mississauga.
