Gwendolyn “Gwen” Doreen Steckly, age 76 of Stratford, passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side at the Stratford General Hospital on April 18, 2015. She was born November 28, 1938 in London, daughter of the late John and Evelyn (Mills) Tillie. Gwen was the beloved wife of the late Donald Steckly whom she married July 27, 1957 and who predeceased her July 31, 2005. Loving and devoted mother to Sharon and Rob Hall of Bayfield, Debora and Bill Baer , and Kim and Peter Willmore both of Stratford. A special grandmother to Shannon Andrews, Stacey Bronsard, Justin Zehr; Ashley, Adam and Brandon Baer; James and Callan Willmore. Great-Grandmother to Ryley Pierce, Abigail Sander, Kurt and Karah Gidge, and Madisyn Bronsard. Gwen was sister to Audrey Johnston, Nona Tillie, Elda Beer, brothers Gerry Tillie (wife Linda) and Campell Tillie. Also survived by a sister-in-law Ann Steckly and brother in law Ervin Steckly and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters Margaret Clarke and Pearl Tillie, brother Bud Tillie and by brothers-in law Robert Johnston, Allen, Lyle, John, and Harvey Steckly and by sisters-in law: Joyce, Myrtle and Florence (Weber) Steckly. Friends and relatives will be received at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Tuesday, April 21, from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment in Avondale Cemetery.
