John Martin Lillow, age 93, passed away peacefully at the Cedarcroft Place, Stratford with his family by his side on April 13, 2015. He was born in Stratford, September 7, 1921, son of the late Elderd and Nellie Lillow. Beloved husband of the late Gladys Colclough who predeceased him May 5, 2000. Loving father of Marian Leader (Don) and Jackie Misuraca (David Truax). Grandfather of John Leader (Lisa), Leanna Hendriks (Dan), Byron Leader – deceased (Ginger), Danielle Misuraca, Chaz Misuraca (Brittany), Krista Truax (Brad) and Kelly Truax (Robin). Great grandfather to 9 great grandchildren. Also survived by a brother Arnold Lillow and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife he was predeceased by a grandson Byron Leader, a brother Bernard (Eva) and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Evelyn Lillow, Alma Haskell (Earl), Catherine Larder (Alan), Cecil Colclough (Edna), Harry Colclough. John served with the RCAF in England from 1941 to 1945. He worked in the CNR Shops and later with Brewers Retail from 1949 until his retirement in 1984. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #8, Stratford. The family would like to thank the staff of Cedarcroft Place for their loving care of John and special thanks to Stacey, Jessica and Madison for being there with us. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Thursday, April 16, from 1 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. Interment in Avondale Cemetery.
