Byron Arnold Wickie passed away peacefully in his 91st year at Stratford General Hospital on Tuesday, July 7, 2015. Byron is survived by his daughter Joanne Moses and his grandson Justin Moses and granddaughter Erin Wickie, sisters-in-law Mildred Wickie, Stratford and Helen McAvoy, Beaver Bank N,S and brothers-in-law Frank (Rae) Jollimore, Thunder Bay, and Raymond (Liz) Jollimore, Halifax, N.S. along with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Dorothy Pearl (Jollimore) August 2002, a son Bruce Edward Wickie (April 2002), his parents Esther Julianna (Leibold) (Wickie)Farrow and Ferdinand Fredrick Wickie and a brother Kenneth Wickie (2013)and sisters-in-law Gwen Jollimore, Betty Morton and Sandra Brine, brothers-in-law Keith, Norm, Blaine and Herman Jollimore. Byron was a longtime member of St. Pauls Anglican Church, Stratford where he served as Treasurer and Warden. He was past president of the St. Pauls Men’s Club; a member of the Royal Canadian Naval Association; a member of the Naval Patrol in Halifax from 1943-1946; a life member of the Stratford Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 8; a charter member of St. John’s Ambulance Brigade in Stratford; a life member of Stratford Masonic Lodge # 332; a life member of the Stratford on Avon Shrine Club and a life member of Mocha Temple. Byron worked at Preston-Noelting, C.N. R. and Canada Bread and in the insurance industry as an Account Executive. Friends and relatives are invited to the W.G.
