Gerald Cecil Cullen (Gerry) – brother, uncle, cousin, teacher, principal, friend – died suddenly in his home on July 3, 2015 at the age of 78. Born at Sikalongo Mission in Zambia, on September 23, 1936 to his Canadian parents (Cecil and Janie Cullen). He resided in Stratford his whole adult life. Graduating as a teenager from Stratford Teacher’s College, Gerry began his teaching career at Juliet Public School and then moved on to Romeo Public School. Later he became principal at North Easthope and Falstaff schools. He retired in 1988 and enjoyed his many years of retirement simply relaxing, inspired by theatre and music. Gerry is survived by his sister Catherine (Donald) Reaman and his brother Ken, many nieces and nephews including great-great nieces and nephews, countless friends and his faithful feline friend, Cailey. He was predeceased by his brother Roy in 1983 and faithful feline companion Timbit earlier this year. The family wishes to thank the residents of Stratford for providing Gerry with 60 years of wonderful memories and supportive friendship. A memorial service will be held at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, 9 Douro Street, Stratford on Saturday, July 11 at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to his favourite charity World Vision Canada. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the W.G.
