Caroline Mary Isabelle Powell passed away peacefully at River Gardens Retirement Residence on Tuesday, August 25, 2015. Born on July 17, 1917 in Stratford, daughter of the late David and Caroline Withrow. Beloved wife of the late R.W.”Pat” Powell who predeceased her in 2005. Lovingly remembered by her daughters Susan Erb and husband Rev. Art Hodgson and Christine and husband Dick McCully. Wonderful Grandma to Tyson Erb and partner Anita Chong, Keely (Erb) and husband Dave Jennings and Kayland McCully and partner Matt Treacy, Michael Hodgson and wife Caroline and Peter Hodgson. Great-grandma to Taylor, Morgan, Griffin and Emerson Jennings, Madilyn and Olivia Hodgson. Dear sister of Bob and wife Ariel Withrow, dear sister-in-law of Beth and husband Jack O’Bright. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews and their families. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her daughter Sharon in infancy, son-in-law Roger Erb, brother-in-law George and wife Dorothy Powell and father-in-law Robert and wife Anne Powell. A special Thank You goes out to her friends and all the staff at River Gardens Retirement Residence for making her final years so enjoyable. Their compassionate care will long be remembered. Cremation has taken place, with a private family burial prior to the service. A Memorial service will be held at Community of Christ Church, 226 Forman Ave., Stratford on Saturday, August 29 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service. Elder Robert Smith officiating. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford.
