It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Doreen Fitzgerald (King) in her 86th year on Sunday, October 25, 2015, at Sakura House in Woodstock, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in London, England on November 5, 1929, daughter of the late Florence and Ernest King. Doreen is survived by her daughters Susan Fitzgerald-Bell (Brian), Terese Edwards (Mike) and son John Fitzgerald (Sandy). Proud grandmother of Alison Bell (Foster) and Kathryn Bell, Sean Fitzgerald and Lindsay Murray (Mark) and their children, Austin, Mark and Olivia. Doreen will be remembered by her sister Ivy Pearce, sisters-in-law Betty Marsh and Diane Saunders along with their families and many nieces and nephews in England. Besides her husband Gord, Doreen was predeceased by her brothers-in-law Graham Fitzgerald, Dennis Marsh, Bill Saunders and Joe Pearce. Doreen was an inspiration to us all. Many thanks to her long time physician, Dr. Ho. and the wonderful care given by the staff at CCAC. Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Doreen’s Life on Friday, October 30, 2015, with visitation from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. at the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford. In lieu of flowers and as expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Rotary Club of Stratford-Stratford/Perth Hospice Project or VON Sakura House through the funeral home. 519.271.7411 www.wgyoungfuneralhome.com
