Jordanus (Dan) Eybergen, age 80, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Best friend and true love “Jeannette”, who he married on October 31, 1959 and passed away on December 10, 2015. Loving father of MaryKay (Mike) Lobsinger, Rob (Dyan) Eybergen, Dan (Adrienne) Eybergen and Dave (Jane) Eybergen; proud grandfather to Melissa, Mike, Isaac, Catherine, Kohan, Nolan, Talen, Tiffany, Brittany, Emily, Madelyn and, Zack; great-grandfather to Christina, Gabrielle, Jordan, Luke and Dana. Dan is survived by his siblings Christine (Adrian) Vanderhyden and Corry Labryn, along with sisters-in-law Tina Eybergen, Rie Eybergen; also survived by several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents William and Catrina (Schutt) Eybergen, Dan was predeceased by siblings Bill, Nick, Danny, Mary, Catherine and Bertus in infancy. Dan was also predeceased by his brothers-in-law Godfried Labryn, Maurice Dykstra and Ted Kersten. Dan spent thirty years supporting a fruitful career at Samsonite. During his personal time, he enjoyed building and renovating his many homes. Friends and relatives may call at the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Sunday, December 13, 2015 from 5-9 p.m. (Knights of Columbus Prayers at 6:45 p.m.). Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 96 Huron Street, Stratford on Monday, December 14, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Fr. Dick Bester will be Celebrant. Interment to follow in Avondale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers and as expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Church Restoration Fund or the Alzheimer Society through the funeral home. 519.271.7411.
