With sadness, the family of Jerry Franken announce his quiet death on January 15, 2016. Jerry was 68 years old. Born in Edmonton, AB, he grew up in California before driving north of the border to find his home in Canada. An actor and director, Jerry cited his greatest creative act as his three children, Katelynd, Miranda and Eli, who will miss him greatly as will their partners Greg, Pete, and Leila, his companion Dorothy Chamberlain and grandsons Jakobi and Damian. He is fondly remembered by his sisters Linda (Harvey), Leanna (Norman), and his Step-Mother Betty, as well as an extended family within the theatre. Jerry devoted his life to the stage inspiring generations of artists and audiences. We will honour his legacy of integrity, laughter and kindness with a Memorial Celebration in the summer. In addition, our family will be in the Chapel room of the Revival House, in Stratford, on Wednesday, January 20, after 6pm; feel free to join us in raising a glass in Jerrys memory. A Jerry Franken Research Fund for FTD/ALS will be set up in the near future and may be made through the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford. 519.271.7411 www.wgyoungfuneralhome.com
