James William Millar, age 67, of Stratford, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Stratford General Hospital. Born in Stratford, son of the late Albert and Dorothy (Hanna) Millar. Proud and loving father of Stephanie Millar and Jamie Millar (Dianne Morden) and her children Dariann and Delaney. Jim is survived by his siblings Bob Millar, Ellen Millar (Dave Mewhinney) Dianne (Jim) Doone, Janet Millar and many nieces and nephews. Jim is also survived by a sister in-law Maria Millar. Jim was a very active member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 8 Stratford, where he filled many executive positions over the years garnering a Life Member of Legion. Jim was a retired Coca Cola employee of 40 + years. In his leisure time, Jim loved to attend the horse track, fish and hunt. Jim was a very active baseball player when he was younger and may very well be remembered as a Bouncer at the Avon Hotel. Besides his parents, Jim is predeceased by a brother Richard Millar and a sister-in-law Jane Millar. Family and friends may call at the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Sunday, May 29, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. (Legion will hold a service at 1:45 p.m.) The funeral service will take place on Monday, May 30 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
