George Wolfe, age 73 of Shakespeare, passed away suddenly, but peacefully, at his residence on Tuesday, June 28, 2016. George was born in Stratford, son of the late Borden and Sadie (Wilhelm) Wolfe and has lived in this area all his life. George was the owner/operator of Shakespeare Landscaping until his retirement. He was also well known as a musician for over 60 years, having played in bands Blue Rangers, Royal Aires and the Moon-Liters and many others. George was a devoted grandfather to his six grandchildren, always having time for them. He was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church, Stratford. Beloved husband of Betty Anne Horn whom he married March 31, 1967. Loving father of John Wolfe (Kristin Sainsbury), Tim Wolfe (Tammy Reiger), Krista Loughead (Todd). Devoted grandfather of Jacob, Loren, Owen, Emily, Ellie and Travis. Brother of Margaret Wolfe, Viola Boersen (Johan), Ellen Wolfe (Bruce Mitchell), Pearl Wolfe (Howard Elliott), Mary Wolfe. Brother-in-law of Shirley Linton, Corinne Smith, and Jack Horn. Also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother John, a sister Ruth, a daughter-in-law Sarah (Johnston) Wolfe and his parents-in-law Whitney and Lillian Horn, brothers-in-law David Linton and Warren Smith and a sister-in-law Eleanor Horn. Friends and relatives may call at the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron St., Stratford on Thursday, June 30 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at St. Peters Lutheran Church, 115 Cambria St., Stratford on Saturday, July 2 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Avondale Cemetery.
