Antonius Hendrikus De Brouwer, age 89 of Stratford passed away peacefully at Sakura House, Woodstock on August 23, 2016. Beloved husband for 62 years of Petronella (Nellie). Loving father of Joanne Young (Peter), Diane Lease (Andrew), John (Debbie), Larry, Tony (Elizabeth), Lisa McDonnell (Jim), Christine Priestap (Ron), Rick (Maryann), Rob (Mandy), Tracy Gore and Mike. Grandfather to 51 grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by brothers Case (Nelis) and Simon and sisters Catharina (Toos) and husband Gord Reynen and Ria. He is also survived by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Christina, Lisa, Pelemina (2nd), Sjet, Frans and Ad Vermeer. Tony was predeceased by his mother and father Johanna and Jan DeBrouwer, a granddaughter Emily DeBrouwer, and by a nephew Andrew Mutsaers and brothers Henricus, Martinus, Will and sisters Anna, Cornelia, and Johanna, by his mother-in-law and father-in-law Gerdina and Leonard Vermeer and by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Adrian Mutsaers, Elizabeth DeBrouwer, Kees, Fien, Riet, Pelamina, Jaan, Marthenus and Aneke Vermeer. Tony operated a dairy farm at RR# 3 Embro for many years. He later worked at the Stratford General Hospital until his retirement. During his retirement he enjoyed working with the Stratford Mens Slow Pitch League where he lined and dragged the diamonds. He was a member of St. Josephs Roman Catholic Church, Stratford. Friends and relatives may call at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Thursday, August 25, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Josephs Roman Catholic Church, 96 Huron Street, Stratford on Friday, August 26 at 11 a.m. Interment at Avondale Cemetery.
