It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness we announce the passing of Jacqueline Dianne Ashton, age 48, formerly of Stratford. Jackie passed away peacefully with her family and friends at her side on September 18, 2016 in Medina, Ohio. Loving and devoted wife of Rob Ashton and cherished mother of Wyatt and Kally. Dear sister of Steve Lease (Shannon), Marcia Lingard (Dennis), Jewel Horn (Don), Bonna-Mae Lease (George Sneddon), Alan Matheson (Joanne) and Marianne Jackson (Tony). Also survived by her step-father Murray Matheson, her mother-in-law Jane Ashton, sisters-in-law Lori Gansevles (Kevin Talsma), Linda Young (Greg), nieces and nephews Emma, Meghan and Ryan Gansevles, Ava and Ashton Young, Elizabeth Wishart (Paul), Nick (Kerry), Matthew and Michael Lingard, Jessica and Karly Horn, Samantha and Brenda-Lynn, Gary, Kaitlyn and Douglas Jackson and their families. Also survived by Jackie’s special friend Sudsy (Lori Kuttschrutter) who has been at the familys side throughout Jackie’s journey. Jackie was predeceased by her parents Victor Lease and Karen Gollnitz, by her father-in-law Fred Ashton and by a niece Dianna Dupe. Visitation at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Thursday, September 22, from 7-9 p.m. and on Friday, September 23, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. with a reception to follow at the Royal Canadian Legion, 207 St. Patrick Street, Stratford. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to an education fund for Wyatt and Kally.
