Joseph Ptasznik, age 85, of Stratford, passed away peacefully, after a courageous battle with cancer on Monday, October 10, 2016 at Sakura House in Woodstock. Born in Poland, son of the late Andrzej and Paulina (Marek) Ptasznik, immigrating to Canada in 1964 settling in Stratford. Joe retired from Cleaver Brooks in 1996 after 28yrs as a welder. Beloved husband of Halina (Dobosz) Ptasznik of 62 years. Proud father of Lucy Nicholson and husband Paul, Krystyna Corlett and husband Randy. Grandfather of Charity Chambers and husband Jon, Shane Nicholson and wife Meghan and great grandfather of Rayden, Ryker, Ryerson Chambers and Keelyn, Kenzie Nicholson. Survived by his brother Stan Ptasznik and wife Jean, nephew Andrew Ptasznik and wife Terri Lynn and great nephews Michael and Stephen. Joe is survived by his sister-in-law Wanda Dobosz, nieces Irene Rockford, Krystina Charamsa, Joanne Charamsa, nephew Mark Charamsa and great niece Roxanne, along with other family members and friends. Family and friends are invited to the Funeral Service at Immaculate Conception Church, 50 Well Street, Stratford on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Reception to follow in parish hall.
