Bruce Wayne Davis, age 70, of Stratford passed away peacefully at the Stratford General Hospital on November 6, 2016. Bruce was born in Stratford, March 26, 1946, son of the late Lloyd “Jack” and Ila (Bruce) Davis. Beloved husband for 48 years of Joanne (Scott). Loving father to Scott (Carrie-Anne) and grandchildren Grace and Avery; Cathy Bellinger (Paul) and grandchildren Samantha, Sydney and Mackenzie; Rob Davis (Debra) and grandchildren Tyler and Lucas. Brother-in-law of Joyce Robinson (Jack), Diane Morrison, Nancy Ruston (Ken). Also survived by his mother-in-law Evelyn Scott and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a brother-in-law Henry VanBergen and by his father-in-law Ken Scott. Lovingly remembered by close friends Theresa Martell, Marshall and Jeanne Crinklaw, Ken and Jan Swan. Bruce worked with Canada Post for 35 years until his retirement in 2001. He was a member of Tecumseh Lodge #144, AF & AM, Mocha Shriners, London, Stratford On Avon Shrine Club where he was Treasurer Emeritus, Royal Order of Jesters, the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #8, Stratford and Avondale United Church, Stratford. Friends and relatives may call at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Wednesday, November 9 from 3:30-5:30 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 a.m. with a reception following at the Royal Canadian Legion, 207 St. Patrick Street, Stratford. The Royal Canadian Legion will hold a service at the funeral home Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. and the Masonic Lodge will hold a service at 6:45 p.m. Interment at Fullarton Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children or the Royal Canadian Legion through the funeral home. 519.271.7411
