It is with profound sadness that the family of Ruth Illmann, age 84 of Stratford, announce that she passed away peacefully with her children at her side at Sakura House (Woodstock) on Wednesday, November 23, 2016. Born in Naukaimen, Lithuania, daughter of the late Heinrich and Emma (Haase) Zimmermann. Beloved wife of the late Paul Illmann, whom she married on July 16, 1960 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church and who predeceased her on October 31, 2013. Ruth is the loving mother of son Gary Illmann (Kathleen) and daughter Cornelia Illmann (Frederick Youngs). Very proud grandmother of Andrew and Caroline. Ruth is survived by her sister-in-law Elfrieda Zimmermann and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Ruth was predeceased by her brother Walter Zimmermann and sister Jenni Kebbel and her husband Arwid. She was a very active member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, enjoying the Knitters and Quilters Groups and Bible study. Friends and relatives may call at the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Sunday, November 27, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 202 Erie Street, Stratford on Monday, November 28 at 11:00 a.m. Burial in Avondale Cemetery.
