Mary Alice Monteith, age 87, of RR# 3 Embro passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on May 25, 2017. Mary was born in Thorndale, March 8, 1930, daughter of the late Leonard and Violet (Tay) Burgess. Beloved wife for 69 years of Fraser Monteith. Loving mother of Diane Monteith (Sandra Forsyth) and their son Matthew Monteith-Forsyth; Brian Monteith (Louise) and their children Curtis (Lisa), Vanessa, Ryan (Shannon); Harold Monteith (Norma) and their children Christopher (deceased), Tanya Meakin (Jamie); Gary Monteith (Angela) and their children Alicia, Krista Knudsen (Ted), Trevor Rose (Brook). Great grandmother of Emma, Connor,Hayden, Chelsea, Leigha, Benjamin and Clara. Also survived by a sister-in-law Gayle McCaul (Jim) and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a sister Jean Allison (Frank) and by her mother-in-law and father-in-law Mary and Edward Monteith. Mary was retired from Canadian Fabricated Products. In retirement she enjoyed travelling with her good friend Eleanor Young. Mary loved to dance and cook and to bring the family together, thus creating many special memories.
