It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Daniel Patrick Young. Dan passed away peacefully surrounded by family members at London Health Sciences Centre on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at the age of 69. He was born in Kitchener on January 25, 1948, son of the late William and Helen (Pelz) Young.  Predeceased by wife Barbara (McCauley), he is survived by his partner Elizabeth Leatherland and his dog Coco; brother Jim Young (Janet), children Chad Young (Margaret), Kristin Terrebroodt (Jason) and Craig Young (Stacey) and their mother Joan Young. Grandfather to Ariel, Cordelia, Landon, Julia, Robbie, Luke and Kaitlyn. Dan is also survived by many cousins.
Dan worked as the Director of Athletics at Conestoga College Doon Campus. He was instrumental in the fundraising and building of the Athletic Complex. Active in his community, Dan coached for many years with Waterloo Minor Hockey, Waterloo Minor Baseball, Waterloo Junior Expos and the OCAA Conestoga Condors College Hockey Team.
In his retirement, Dan continued to work at Stratford Subaru Automotive Sales and Service and, in recent years, enjoyed living and boating in Grand Bend.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of the London Health Sciences Center for their care and support.

Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Thursday, June 15th from 7-9 p.m. and on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Stratford-Perth Humane Society through the funeral home. 519.271.7411
