John Haynes – John passed away peacefully on July 19, 2017 at Knollcrest Lodge in Milverton. He was born in Brampton on August 29, 1931, son of the late Viola (Bailey) and Jason Haynes. John was predeceased by his wife Darlene in 2015. Loving father of Lynnette (Wayne) McLeod, Wendy Ladd, Sheree Vollmer (Paul Sterkenburg), David (Elaine) Vollmer, Larry (Janice) Vollmer and Ben Haynes (Cassandra Frampton). Dear grandfather of Karen McLeod (Garett Bessey), Kevin McLeod, Kyle (Jennifer) McLeod, Erin and Craig Vollmer and Dylan Haynes. Proud great-grandfather of Sydney, Kolby and Kohen McLeod and Declan and Emma Bessey. John is also survived by his brothers and sisters Bill (Sheryl) Haynes, Rose (Reg) Harpley, Harry (Cheryl) Haynes, Fred Haynes, Marilyn (John) Parks, Viola (Jim) Mitchell and Shirley Haynes, as well as his sisters-in-law Sheila Bernier, Joy (Brian) Zehr, and Penny (Ross) Smith.
John enjoyed playing cards, bingo and swing bowling. He liked being outdoors and was a real animal lover. There were always dog treats in his drawer at Knollcrest for any canine visitors. John enjoyed watching wrestling and his vast array of movies. He was a huge John Wayne and Clint Eastwood fan. The funeral service will take place at Zion Lutheran Church, 202 Erie Street, Stratford on Saturday, July 22 at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service. Cremation has taken place. A private family interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to ChildCan, Knollcrest Lodge, Zion Lutheran Church or the charity of ones choice through the W.
