Elizabeth Joyce (Betty) Thompson, of Stratford, passed away suddenly on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Stratford General Hospital. She was born on February 25, 1930 to Rev. J.G. Connor and Elizabeth (McNulty) Connor. Betty was a long-time employee of Prudential Insurance, member of Knox Presbyterian Church, passionate home decorator, accomplished singer and an ardent Toronto Maple Leaf fan. Betty was predeceased by her husband, T. Douglas Thompson, February 2002, her parents and Connor siblings; Irma, Frank (Marj), Cam (Fran), Murray (May), Jean (Jack), Miriam (Mel), Lois (Doug), Jim (Alice) and Geraldine (in infancy). Betty was the last surviving member of her family.  Survived by her niece, Marilyn Wells (Robert) of Stratford, nephews Rev. Canon Timothy Connor (Ruth) of London and Gregory Connor of Stratford, and several other nieces, nephews and their families. At Betty’s request, cremation will take place and a private family service will be held. Betty’s ashes will be scattered in God’s Holy Acre in the spring.  As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Sleeping Children Around the World or Stratford General Hospital through the W.
