Ethel Murray, age 96, of Stratford passed away peacefully at People Care, Tavistock on December 10, 2017. Beloved wife of the late William (Bill) Murray who predeceased her May 7, 1972. Loving mother of Bill Murray (Dorien) and Larry Murray (Claudia Buckley). Proud grandmother of Kelly Murray (Mathew Rosenblatt), Chris Murray (Allie Allum), Sarena Renaud (Tom), Nathan Hammond (Stephanie Cociu), Wendi Jennings (Robert), Kim Murray (John Robertson), Jeff Murray (Teri), Sean Murray (Heather McGregor), Thomas and Liam Buckley, adopted grandmother to Linda, Kathy, David, Susan and Tom Marsh and Samantha (Sam) Marenchuk. Great-grandmother to Emily and Grace Jennings, Ava and Georgia Rosenblatt, Noah Robertson,  Aysha, Connor, Quinton and Evan Murray, Bria and Rian Renaud,  Izzy and Sophie Cociu. She is also survived by brother Milt Mulholland and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents George and Laura Mulholland as well as seven brothers and four sisters and her in-laws, Frank and Caroline Murray. Much loved by all, Ethel had a very kind and generous spirit. She worked in the cafeteria at Stratford General Hospital for 25 years and was a popular member of the Stratford Cribbage League for over 30 years, playing until she was 95. The family thanks her neighbours and many friends for their wonderful support over the years and the highly dedicated staff of the Stratford General Hospital and People Care Tavistock for their exceptionally caring efforts for the past fifteen months.  A celebration of Ethel’s remarkable life will be held at Parkview United Church, where she was a long time member, at 470 Ontario Street, Stratford on Saturday, January 13 at 11 a.m. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Parkview United Church through the W.G.
