Hazel Mae Dickson (nee Lucas), age 97, of Stratford passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Stratford General Hospital. Born in Grey Township on September 12, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Lillian (Martin) Lucas. Loving and cherished mother of Carole Sanderson, Sheila Dickson (Bob Whittaker) and the late Rhonda Leggatt, who predeceased her in 2013. Proud grandmother of Paula Pattenden (Garry), Cassandra Chambers (Mike), Chris Leggatt, Tim Leggatt, Ashley Leggatt and great-grandmother of Connor and Kenzie Chambers.  She is also survived by her dear sister Velma Carsh as well as several nieces and grand-nephews.  Hazel was predeceased by her husband William, her brother Clarence Lucas, her sisters Ruth Henning and Dolores Dawdy, a niece Connie and a nephew Richard.  Hazel was a life-long member of the United Church of Canada.  Friends and relatives may call at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Saturday, December 9, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Avondale Cemetery.
