Ruby passed away peacefully at Knollcrest Lodge in Milverton on December 19, 2017 at the age of 85.  Besides her parents, Fred and Anna Schmidt, she was predeceased by her loving husband Andrew Lindner in 1996 and her sister and brother-in-law Erma and Victor Riehl. Ruby is survived by brothers-in-law Bill (Ruth) Lindner and Stanley Player and sisters-in-law Doreen Baan and Jean Lindner, as well as several nieces and nephews. Lovingly remembered by her friends Wayne and Lynnette McLeod and family, and John and Tine Buechler.  Ruby was a life-long resident of Gadshill, where she grew up and later farmed for many years with her husband until their retirement in 1996.  Ruby loved animals, especially dogs.  She was always in the barn working, in the garden or in the kitchen cooking.  A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday December 23, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Rev. Patricia Jackson officiating.  Spring interment in St. Peters Lutheran Cemetery.  As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to St. Peters Lutheran Church (Gadshill) or Knollcrest Lodge (Milverton) through the funeral home.  519.271.7411
