Margaret Elizabeth (Marnie) Wreford, age 88, of Cedarcroft Place, passed away on Tuesday January 2, 2018.

Born in Stratford and a life-long resident of the city, she was the daughter of the late Frederick G. Diehl Sr. and Margaret Chesney.  Loving Mother of Rob Wreford (Carmela Koss), Stratford and Kathleen (Katie) Wreford, Stratford.  Cherished grandmother of Andrew Wreford (Ashley Williams) and Alex & Brittany Wreford of Stratford.  Beloved sister of Frederick G. Diehl (Pat), Eleanor Dunfield and Kathleen Diehl of Stratford.  Lovingly remembered by several cousins and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Marnie was predeceased by her husband Bill in 2013 and brothers and sisters-in-law, Gordon (Marion) Wreford, George (Marion) McKay, Dr. John Dunfield and special friend, Glen Drake.

Marnie worked for many years at Bell Canada as an Installation Dispatcher where she was affectionately known as “Sarge” to the Installers.  In her younger years she enjoyed tennis, ice skating, badminton, curling and bridge.  She also enjoyed music and played her piano until just recently.  Being a Cancer survivor, she volunteered her time with the Ostomy Association.

Marnie’s family would like to thank the staff at Cedarcroft Place for their kindness and care for her over the last four years.  Also thanks to Dr. Jason Bandy and his staff for their professional care over the years.

At Marnie’s request, there will be no Funeral Home visitation. A private family service will take place at a later date.
