Helen Isabelle Willoughby, age 91, of Stratford passed away peacefully at the Stratford General Hospital on April 15, 2018. Born in Downie Township, January 23, 1927, daughter of the late Eldon and Annie (Ballantyne) Eckert. Isabelle worked for Bell Canada for 37 years until her retirement. She was a member of Avonton Presbyterian Church. Beloved wife for 68 years of Harvey Willoughby. Loving mother of Anne Wood. Wonderful grandmother of Kirk Wood (Kim), Leslie Roos (Jeff) and great-grandmother of Danica, Emma, Katelynn, Jacoba, Brett and Nate. Also survived by sisters-in-law Margaret Saunders, Marlene Blackman and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by son-in-law Dennis Wood, sister Marjorie Orr (John), brother-in-law Ballantyne Saunders and nephew Duncan Saunders. Friends and relatives may call at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Monday, April 30, from 4-7 p.m. and on Tuesday, May 1, from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Rev. Catherine Calkin will officiate. A private family interment will be held at Avondale Cemetery.
