Florence Cecelia (Hartleib) Butson passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at the age of 95.

Beloved wife of Leonard who predeceased her in 2015 and loving mother of Connie Stewart, Roderick (Patti) and William (Rorraine) and special grandmother to Christina, Sarah (Jocelyn), Robert (Ruth), Leanne (Peter), Jennifer (Daniel), and Greg (Lyndsey) and great-grandmother to Joseph, Ethan, Caleigh, Ava, Leah, Annabelle and Elleen. Dear sister of Margaret Muma, sister-in-law of Shirley Hartleib, Ruth Hartleib, June Wray, Ron Butson (Anne), Donna Butson, Vance Day and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Francis and Emma Hartleib, she was predeceased by a son, Robert (in infancy), son-in-law, Bruce Stewart, brothers, John, Anthony, Leon, Robert, Donald and Jerome, sisters Connie Copeland and Theresa Hartleib (in infancy), also brothers-in-law Roy Muma, Mike McCauley, Ken Copeland, Jim Million, Dick Wray and Barry Butson, sisters-in-law Irene Day, Helen Hartleib, Lena Milliion, Grace Hartleib, Mary Butson.

She was selfless and caring for her family and always enjoyed family events.  She was proud of her wartime service building airplanes.  She worked in retail and enjoyed teaching Sunday School at Parkview United Church but she especially loved babysitting her grandchildren. Her hobbies included sewing, knitting, crocheting, gardening and decorating. We would like to thank the staff of Cedarcroft Place for their compassionate care of Florence.

Friends are invited to share their memories of Florence with the family during the memorial visitation at W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford 519-271-7411 on Tuesday, May 15 from 7-9 pm and on Wednesday, May 16, from 10 am. until the memorial service and reception at 11:30 am.  Interment will follow at Avondale Cemetery.  Condolences for the family and memorial donations to the Alzheimer’s Society may be made through the funeral home at www.wgyoungfuneralhome.com.
