Joseph Glen Standeaven, age 68, of RR# 1 St. Marys, passed away peacefully at the St. Marys Memorial Hospital on May 12, 2018.
Born in Stratford, June 18, 1949, son of the late Andrew and Reta (Hodgins) Standeaven. Beloved husband for 45 years of Elaine (Willows). Loving father of Joseph (Carrie) and David (Dana). He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Scott and Anna. Brother of Barbara Fawcett (Keith). Also survived by sisters-in-law Lynn Fraser (George), Gail Willows and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brother Frank Standeaven and by his parents-in-law Floyd and Verna Willows.
Glen and Elaine owned and operated Sutherhill Farms in Downie Township. He had been involved with several organizations over the years including serving on Downie Township Council, the Perth County Holstein Club, Perth County Co-op and had been director with the Oxford Milkway Transport.
Visitation at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Friday, May 18, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Glen’s life will be held at the Downie Optimist Hall, St. Pauls on Saturday, May 19, from 12-3 p.m. with words of remembrance at 12 noon. A family interment will take place at Avonbank Cemetery.
