Guy Moore

(December 26, 1939 – May 15, 2018)

Guy George Moore, age 78, a lifelong resident of Stratford passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the Stratford General Hospital. Son of the late Oliver and Frieda (Riehl) Moore. Beloved husband for 40 years of Hilda (Gavin). Loving father of Stacy Howe (Chris), Guy Moore Jr. (Falon) and Julie Otten (Jason). Grandfather of Michael (Jillian), Brandan, Jayla, Elise, Royce, Oliver, Georgie and Finn and great grandfather of Thomas. Survived by sister Judy Voogel and sister-in-law Marlene Moore. Predeceased by brother Daniel Moore and brother-in-law Ted Voogel. He was a hardworking man who never missed a day of work, Guy was employed at FAG Bearings for 37 years where he was known as the painter. He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing and enjoyed his time with the boys at the Beaudry Hill Hunt Camp. Guy loved spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren and enjoyed the annual family trips to Lake Manitou and Restoule. In his younger years he was a member of the Rainbow Riders Motorcycle Club in Stratford. Hilda and Guy spent their quiet time at home gardening and watching the birds and wildlife. Cremation has taken place, and a private ceremony will be held in Restoule.  We welcome all friends and family to a celebration of Guy’s life which will be held at the Army, Navy, Air Force Veterans Hall, 151 Lorne Avenue, East, Stratford on Friday, June 8, any time after 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters or to the Multiple Sclerosis Society through the W.G.
