Frank Leroy Humphrey, age 97, of Stratford, passed away suddenly at Stratford General Hospital on Saturday, May 4, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Rodney, Ontario son of the late Russell and Jessie (MacLennan) Humphrey. Predeceased by his loving wife Ruth (Howard) Humphrey, September 29, 2012. Proud and loving father to Carol (Hans) von Zittwitz, Barb Huffman (Joe Alessandro), David Humphrey and Jim (Colleen) Humphrey. Much loved Gramps to Alex, Lynsi (Andy), Kyle (Jenn), Tanya (Anna), Colin (Sherry) and Jessica (Ryan). Great Gramps to Karyce, Hunter, Lily, Porter, Elliot, Owen, Samantha, Cole, Russell and Nick. Frank will be fondly remembered by his sister Ann Cornwall, the entire Howard family and his many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and his wife Ruth, Frank was predeceased by his brother Jack Humphrey and brother-in-law Roy Cornwall. Frank’s family would like to thank Dr. Bandey, Dr. Johnson, and the excellent nursing staff at Stratford General Hospital Emergency and 1st floor East Medicine. Special thanks to Dr. Nicholson. The great care and compassion shown by all at this time has been a wonderful comfort for Frank and his family. Friends and relatives may call at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford, on Saturday, May 11, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 3:00 p.m. Frank has graciously bequeathed his body to the University of Waterloo School of Anatomy Kinesiology Department.
