Ray Chippendale passed away peacefully at Cedarcroft Place Retirement Residence on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 87 years.  Born in Stratford, Ontario November 1, 1931, he was the oldest son of the late Frederick and Janet (Patterson).  Beloved husband of the late Erma Chippendale (Cook), loving father of Christine Weadick (Michael), dear grandfather to Phillip, Sara and Raymond. Dear great-grandfather to Easton. Predeceased by his parents, sister Gwendolyn Moses (Howie), brother Reginald and brother and sisters-in-law Clayton and Alice Cook, Mildred and Addison Zeigler, Verna and Nick Lichti, Evelyn and Alvin Luckhardt, Shirley and Richard Nowack and Audrey and Len Faucette. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. Through the years Ray apprenticed as a sheet metal worker and machinist at the CNR shops, worked at Jones Manufacturing when the shops closed, and Reliance Electric until he retired in 1997. Visitation at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Saturday, June 8 from 3 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 4 p.m. Pastor William Ney will officiate.  A reception at the funeral home will follow the service.
