Reinildis Dymphna “Renelda” Boersen (nee Verellen), age 75, of Stratford passed away peacefully at Parkwood Hospital, London on June 13, 2019. Born in Belgium on August 2, 1943, daughter of the late Joseph Verellen and the former Mary Michiels. She immigrated to Canada as a sibling with her family in 1954. Beloved wife of Gerbrand “Gerry” Boersen since October 17, 1964. Loved mother of Ken (Tanya), Michele Wettlaufer (Jeff), Rick (Elaine), Jeannette Groenestege (Ron) and Pamela Richens. Dear sister of Madeleine Visser (Harry), Louie Verellen (Karen), Alfons Verellen (Bonnie), Mary Guha (Kokan), Andre Verellen (Therese), John Verellen, Josee, Bill Verellen (Cheryl) and sister-in-law Frieda Verellen. Proud grandmother of Jarrett, Jocelyn, Brent (Pierina), Alycia, Dylan, Hailey, Liam, Callum, Taylor, Logan, Dominic, Mikayla and Abbey. Also survived by her in-laws, Ann and Peter Bokkers, Judy Boersen, Ted Boersen, Ann Boersen, Liz Boersen, Henk and Emma Boersen, Viola Boersen and Alieda Vlasman, as well as many nephews and nieces. Predeceased by her brothers Johannes, Frank and Joe Verellen, sister Rose and Peter Huitema, nephew Brian Verellen and in-laws, Dora and Adrian Olstoorn, Betty and Andy Gras, John Boersen, Martina Boersen, Tony Boersen, Bert Boersen, Joan and Peter Oud, Johan Boersen and Joe Vlasman.  Visitation at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford of Sunday, June 16, from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m., with parish prayers at 1:45 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 96 Huron Street, Stratford on Monday at 11:00 a.m.  A reception will be held at the Parish hall following the interment in Avondale Cemetery.  As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of one’s choice and may be made through the funeral home. 519.271.7411
