The Celebration of Life for the late Shirley A. Leasa, originally scheduled for Saturday, March 21 has been cancelled. Those wishing to offer condolences to the family may do so at

Shirley Anne Leasa, age 78, passed away suddenly at her residence on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 after a lengthy illness. Born in Stratford, daughter of the late Robert and Alice (Paff) Watkinson. Predeceased by her loving husband of 48 years, Lorne Ronald Leasa on Oct 27, 2012. Shirley was a registered nurse working in the operating room at Stratford General Hospital and later Emergency Department Manager, before starting her own business as a CPR instructor and selling mobility equipment across Canada.  Much loved mother of Shawn (Star) Leasa and Cheryl Leasa (Shawn Springer). Proud and loving grandmother of Matthew Leasa (Emily) and Tyler Leasa (Cristina). Shirley will be remembered by her siblings; Susan Horne (John Hinkley) and Fred Watkinson (Sheila), her sisters-in-law Audrey Bradburn and Florence Leasa, her brother-in-law Bob Bradburn, very dear family friend Betty McCutcheon,  as well as her many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her husband, Shirley was predeceased by her sister Linda Ironside (Richard) and her brothers-in-law Eric Horne and Harold Leasa. Shirley’s Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, March 21, 2020 from 1-5 p.m. at Oxford Haus Apartments – Club House, 85 Oxford Street, Stratford.  Please dress casual.  As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of one’s choice through the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford. 519.271.7411.
