Margaret “Marg” Elizabeth Billo, age 86, of Stratford, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at Spruce Lodge. Born in Stratford, daughter of the late Leslie and Winnifred (Napier) Sinclair. Predeceased by her husband Gerald “Jerry” Billo on August 17, 2010. Proud and much-loved mother of Leslie McRae, Susan (Murray) Straus and Sandra Billo-Wicke (Tim Parker). Grandmother of Jeremy McRae, Jessica McRae (Joe Bender), Michael Straus, Rachel (Matt) McGrath and Matthew Wicke. Great-grandmother to Cassandra and Jason Bender. Marg will be fondly remembered by the entire Billo and Sinclair families along with her many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her husband, Marg was predeceased by a granddaughter Terri Billo, her parents, and her brother Douglas Sinclair and his wife Hilda, brothers-in-law Edward Billo and wife Madeline, Donald Billo and wife Rose, Gordon Billo and wife Anita, Karl Billo and wife June, Mort Wilson, sister-in-law Marie Wilson and husband Jack. Mom was the strongest, kindest, most selfless person; she was always grateful for kindness shown to her, as she has shown to so many in her lifetime. She loved to cook and the kitchen table was the popular gathering place for family and friends over the years. Her career spanned many years, first as a waitress at the Victorian Inn and then for the Bank of Montreal (Stratford) that began her lifelong career as a Loans and Mortgage officer. She loved many activities; in her younger years playing ladies softball, later years in the church choir and a bowling league. Mom and Dad owned a trailer at Port Elgin and spent many years at the lake entertaining family and friends. Mom lived independently until Easter of 2020. We love you very much mom and will miss you. The family is very grateful for the care and compassion shown to their mother from the doctors and nurses and visiting PSW’s at Greenwood Court and Spruce Lodge. It is truly appreciated. A private family graveside service will take place in Avondale Cemetery. Marg will be laid to rest with her true love Gerry.
