Brock Archer Hislop, passed away suddenly at Stratford General Hospital on December 18, 2020. He was born in 1937, the son of the late George and Edna Hislop and was a life-long resident of Stratford. Brock was an avid sportsman. He played on local fastball and hockey teams including the Harmony Hurricanes, and followed the sports teams of many of his nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, as well as local and national teams. Brock will be remembered by his brothers and sisters: Sarah Proudlove, Vera Gibbons, Keith Hislop (Pat), Lloyd Hislop, Joe Hislop (Hazel), Bessie Wilhelm, Ken Hislop (Berva), Ruth Lindner (Bill), June Zimmer, Joan Ford, Dorothy Calder, and Doug Hislop; and sisters-in-law Helen Hislop, and Brenda Hislop. He will be remembered by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces-and-nephews, and good friends. Brock is survived by daughters Elizabeth Clarke and Marilyn Pickering and their families. Brock was predeceased by brothers George Hislop, Bob Hislop and Ross Hislop and brothers and sisters-in-law Leonard (Mike) Wilhelm, Al Calder, Lorne Proudlove, Doreen Hislop, Ron Zimmer and Roy Gibbons. A celebration of Brock’s life and interment will occur at a later date.
