Harry De Wys, 86, a resident at The Mitchell Nursing Home passed away peacefully on March 9, 2021.  Born in Halvarenbeek, Holland December 1, 1934, son of the late George De Wys and Marie Nouwens.

Survived by his loving wife of 56 years Corry (Smits) De Wys, Stratford and their dearly loved daughter, Carla. Also survived by brothers: John (Rita), New Zealand, Joe (Audrey), St. Paul’s, George (Sandra), St. Mary’s, John (Sharon), Stratford, Pete De Wys of Varna and Dianne De Wys of Zurich.  Brother-in-law Henry Sterkenburg of St. Mary’s. Brother and sister-in-law Tony and June Smits of British Columbia. Also survived by several cousins in Ontario and Holland as well as nieces and nephews in New Zealand, British Columbia and Ontario.

Besides his parents he was predeceased by a daughter and son in infancy. Also his sister Annie Eenkooren and her husband Duke and his sister Mary Sterkenburg.

Friends will be received at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford, on Sunday, March 21, from 1 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. Those who will be coming to the service must call the funeral home to confirm their attendance.
