JAMES JEFFREY (Jeff) WILSON, age 68, of RR1 Varna, ON passed away peacefully at Victoria Hospital London on 20 May 2021.  Born 6 June 1952 in Sarnia, ON son of the late Herbert and Ina (Haley) Wilson.  Survived by Linda (nee VanderHoeven), his loving wife and best friend of 34 years.  Jeff is also survived by his brothers Bruce (Marg), and John (Jo’Anne), mother-in-law Sientje VanderHoeven, sisters-in-law Cindy Meinzer (Craig), Nancy Wilke, and brother-in-law Dennis VanderHoeven (Cindy) as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Jeff pursued his Ph.D in Industrial Microbiology at McMaster and the University of Saskatchewan.  His wide and varied career led him to challenging projects around the world.

After living in Ottawa and Calgary, the couple retired to a country property in southern Ontario where Jeff energetically used his skills and knowledge as Dr. Fix-It to repair and restore anything he could to keep it out of the landfill.   Jeff enjoyed helping others, whether through his Rotary Club or ham radio.

In his younger years he enjoyed golf, skiing, hiking and later wine-making and long walks on the beach.  He was enthusiastic about amateur radio, always tinkering with parts, building antennas, and pursuing contests as VE3CV.  Jeff was a long-time fan of the BlueJays and the BlackHawks.

Jeff was a kind and generous man who will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
