Robert James Stephen Shepherd, age 83, of Stratford passed away peacefully at the Stratford General Hospital on June 14, 2021. Born in Fergus, Ontario son of the late Robert and Marjorie (Carlaw) Shepherd.

Beloved husband for 60 years of Janet (Reed). Loving father of Jim (Brenda) and Linda Evola. Grandfather of Tyler Pigeon, Andrew and David Shepherd.

Bob worked for the Ministry of Transportation before retiring. He was involved with the Kinsmen Club in Fonthill and Stratford. Bob enjoyed watching and playing many sports including golf, curling and pickle ball and was a true fan of the Hamilton Tiger Cats CFL team. He was a true blue fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs. Bob’s true passion was hockey. “Shep” #9 played hockey in Hamilton as a youth right up until age 65 for the Stratford Oldtimers.

If you knew Bob well, you likely had the pleasure to hear him sing or play an instrument by ear. He was a very social man who valued his friendships.

Bob was such a devoted Husband, Dad and Papa.  He loved family gatherings and traveling. He was a very sweet, kind, loving man who would do anything for his family and friends. There will be no shortage of smiles, love and great memories with the mention of his name.

Thank you to the caring staff on the Medicine floor and healthcare team at Stratford General Hospital involved in his care.
