Assuntina Colangelo, age 85, of Stratford and formerly of Toronto, passed away peacefully in her sleep in the comfort of her own home. Assuntina was predeceased by her loving husband Vincenzo of 59 years (Feb 2013). Assuntina after losing her husband decided to move to Stratford to be with her daughter and her family. Loving mother of Rita (Francesco) Pugliese of Stratford. Much loved Nonna of Cara and Crista Colangelo, Nicola (Lindsay) Pugliese and Vincenzo (Michelle) Pugliese and Bisnonna of Carter, Leonardo, Abigail and Luciana. Assuntina will be fondly remembered by her sisters Niva (Pietro) Colangelo and Gina Fantozzi and along with her many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and her parents, Assuntina was predeceased by her son Antonio Colangelo and her siblings; Liberata (Biagio)Fantozzi, Lidia (Umberto)Polce, Maria Fantozzi, Mario (Emilia) Fantozzi, Antonietta Fantozzi. Family and friends may call at the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron St, Stratford, on Friday, September 17, 2021, from 4-8p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 50 Well St, Stratford, Assuntina will be laid to rest with her late husband Vincenzo in Avondale Cemetery (Stratford) immediately following the mass.
