Marilyn Pearl Yundt, age 86, of Stratford passed away peacefully at Hillside Manor on Monday, September 13, 2021. Born in Stratford, daughter of the late Eric and Edna (nee Schmidt) Yundt. Loving sister of Debra Yundt and Karen Roberts (Owen Switzer). Cherished Aunt to David Yundt (Sandra), Carol Rennick (George), Ruth Yundt (Junier Fuentes Perez), Keith Yundt (Elisabeth Köster), Cindy Bondi (Mike), Craig Yundt (Sandi Birkland) and their families. She is also predeceased by her brother Donald Yundt, sister-in-law Marijean Yundt and step-mother Jean Yundt. Marilyn’s 45 year long career in the newspaper industry began when she was 18 years old at the London Free Press. She then moved to Toronto and began working for the Toronto Star for over 20 years when she made her final move to the Globe and Mail and remained there for 18 years until her retirement at age 63. Marilyn loved all animals especially cats and is survived by her cat Savannah Stephanie Yundt. Marilyn loved to travel and her favourite vacation took her to the base camp of Mount Everest with the Canadian Himalayan Expeditions. The family would like to sincerely thank all the staff at Hillside Manor and especially Dr. Saurabh Kalra for the wonderful care and compassion given to Marilyn over the last 5 years. Cremation has taken place. A private family graveside service will be held at Avondale Cemetery.
