Wilhelmina (May) Broadfoot, resident of Brampton, formerly of Stratford, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2021, surrounded by loved ones in her 86th year at Holland Christian Homes Grace Manor. She was born in Geldrop, The Netherlands and came to Canada in 1958. Daughter of the late Arie de Vree and Johanna de Vree (van Dijk) and stepmother Christina de Vree (Hopmans). Wilhelmina was predeceased by her husband Robert Broadfoot (2004) and Jack S.C. Roukema (1994). Also, predeceased by her son Christoffel (Chris) Eric Roukema (2015) and sisters Johanna (Joke) Martin (de Vree) (2004) and Cornelia (Corrie) Volk (de Vree) (2008). She is survived by and will be sadly missed by her daughter Joanne Roukema (Terry) and grandsons Jason Coish (Aida) and Quinton Coish (Colleen). She had 4 great grandchildren, Mia, Hunter, Asher and Gunnar. She is also survived by her sister Arina (Riny) van Esch (de Vree) and her Special Sweetheart, Walter Martin. Walter called Wilhelmina every day at Grace Manor from the Netherlands. He loved her very much. She will be dearly missed by Robert Broadfoots’ Family who loved her with all of their hearts and treated her like a Queen.¬† Wilhelmina worked at FAG Bearings and Samsonite (sewing department). She also waitressed at the Eastwood and Acropol Restaurants. She was superintendent at Park Towers for many, many years, with her husband Jack. Wilhelmina was a woman of faith. She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church where she enjoyed Sunday Services. She especially loved to sing hymns. She loved to spend time with family and friends. Anyone who knew her thought she was a very sweet lady. She always enjoyed a good laugh and had the sweetest smile. She loved listening to music, cats, flowers, knitting, crocheting, sewing, Bingo, word search puzzles (in Dutch). She loved to go for walks, especially along the Avon River, feeding the swans and ducks, along the way. She loved to hop on a plane to travel back to her homeland, the Netherlands.¬†Cremation has taken place. There will be a Private Family Service in Brampton at a later timer.
