Vance Edward Cornish, age 69, of Stratford, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 1, 2021, at Stratford General Hospital after a short but courageous battle. Born in Galt, Ontario, son of the late Walter Thomas and Verla (Agar) Cornish. Survived by his true love and best friend of 40 years Jeannette Lorette (White) Cornish. Proud father of Jason (Angela) Cornish, Leigha (Nick) Illman and Allison Cornish (Eric Puff). Grandfather of Kelly, Chantelle, Taylor, Chloe, Colton, Carter, Heather and Great grandfather of Kayson. Vance will be fondly remembered by his sister Vonna (Art) Smith, his brothers-in-law Doug (Gwen) White, Larry (Denise) White and nieces and nephews. Vance was a licenced sheet metal worker and proud member of Sheet Metal Workers Local 473, he also drove truck throughout his working career, before retiring in the fall of 2020. Vance was privileged to have so many friends he loved dearly and was able to say goodbye to many of them with a personal visit. In his spare time, he loved to fish, camp and spend time with friends and family. The family would like to sincerely thank all the doctors and nurses of Stratford General Hospital, for all the care and compassion given to Vance and our family.  In keeping with Vance’s wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of Vance’s life will take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy memorial donations may be made to the Stratford General Hospital Foundation through the W. G.
