Elaine Audrey Wicke, age 86, of Gadshill, passed away suddenly at Stratford General Hospital on Thursday, January 13, 2022. Born in Ellice Township, daughter of the late John and Hilda (Riehl) Doerr. Elaine is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, George Wicke. Proud and loving mother of Randall (Cathy) Wicke, Gregory (Heather) Wicke, Susan (Brian) Cox, and Lynn (Scott) McDougall. Grandmother of Darla, Cara (Jamie), Scott (Melissa), Kim (Cam), Jamie (Amanda), Daniel, Cheryl (Jon), Kristie, Rachel, Andrew (Julia), Nathan and Great Grandmother of Emilia, Jack, Clara, Gage, Emerson, Lilli, Axel, Brynlee and Brooklyn. Elaine is survived by her sisters Marilyn Kreuter and Reta (Alex) McKay and her sisters-in-law Betty Gingerich, Jacky Wicke and her many nieces and nephews. The family would like to sincerely thank all the wonderful “ladies” and staff who cared for and made Elaine’s stay at Mithcell Nursing Home comforting. It is truly appreciated. Besides her parents, Elaine was predeceased by her three brothers-in-law Cliff Kreuter, Carl Gingerich and Roy Wicke. Family and friends are invited to First St. John Lutheran Church (Seebach Hill), 4994 Line 34, Hwy 8 on Monday, January 17, 2022 from 11:30 a.m. -1:30 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Cremation to follow with interment in 2nd St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery (Wartburg) at a later date.
