It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Patrick John Gooding “Paddy”, on the morning of Sunday, January 16, 2022 at the St. Mary’s Hospital in Kitchener, Ontario.

Paddy, born in London, Ontario on November 1, 1940 is the loving father of Kim (Steve), Michelle, Rick, Sean (Lucy), Shane (Tanya), and lifelong partner of 54 years Sue, and the loving “Poppy” of Veronica (Kyle), Jordan (Monica), Jared, Hannah (Zach), Keilan (Chett), Declan, and Great Grandfather of Landon, Ivy, Violet, and Leo.

Brother of Bob, (Ruth and family) and dear friend of Jeff, Ronda, and Andy. Paddy now joins his mother Veronica (Gaffney), his father Anthony, and grandson Cory in heaven.

Paddy was a hardworking man and devoted the majority of his years labouring at the MTO and his later retired years at McCann Construction. In his spare time, he could be found sipping a coffee with a small group of friends at Tim Hortons, expressing words of profanity towards his precious Toronto Maple Leafs, and burning a hole in his seat at the Allman arena while cheering on his Stratford Cullitons.

Poppy was a man of few words but showed his love and affection by never missing a grandchild’s sporting event or a Saturday night dinner date with “Gran” (Sue). He greatly valued his time with family so much that he often assumed the position at every family gathering in the corner with a video camera in hand.

Paddy’s family and friends would like to send a special thanks and gratitude to Dr. Sean Blaine, Dr. Mark Benaroia, Dr. Catherine Barry, Dr. Jolly, Dr. Amelia Yip, and all their associates. “How great dedication is”.

You will be greatly missed, Poppy Paddy!
